Are you on 32 bit Ubuntu? If so, you are probably plagued by a bug in
libSDL - please check your version of libSDL, if it is version 1.2.13
then this is the likely cause of the bug. The solution is to use version
1.2.14.

Status in OpenShot Video Editor: New

Bug description:
When using the preview to look at imported clips they are usually crammed into the top of the window so that the whole video is not watchable, the rest of the window is black. Other times the whole window is a bunch of different colors and audio is really choppy.

There is way I can watch the previews as they are totally distorted.
