I am also affected by this bug on Ubuntu 10.04 (64-bit). Attempt to play
any effect will result in OpenShot "disappearing". If the project file
is saved with an effect added to one of the clips, OpenShot will
instantly "disappear" after an attempt to open the project file.

Status in OpenShot Video Editor: New

Bug description:
OpenShot crashes with no message.  It simply disappears.  I notice that this normally happens when I am using the special effects.  The video formats I have edited when the system crashed are *.wmv and *.flv.  

I am using OpenSuse 11.2, rpm, OpenShot 1.1.0
