[Bug 584032] Re: OpenShot crash when opening project file
I found this thread which addressed my issue.
http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=363&p=1504&hilit=file+open#p1504
The bug here appears to be that the PPA is not installing all of the
necessary dependencies for a stable OpenShot.

Status in OpenShot Video Editor: New
Bug description:
I am running Ubuntu 10.04. I installed OpenShot from the Ubuntu repositories. I have been working on a video for several days and now I have a big issue.
I added the cartoon effect to one of my clips. Actually it was not a clip but a simple JPEG file. I then hit save and when I went to play the video, OpenShot crashed. Now I am unable to open that file. Every time I do, I get the following.
$ openshot
--------------------------------
OpenShot (version 1.1.3)
--------------------------------
Process no longer exists: 13956. Creating new pid lock file.
A new frmMain has been created
state saved
on_mnuOpenProject_activate called with self.mnuOpenProject
A new frmOpenProject has been created
GenerateXML for an Effect
Segmentation fault
The app closes and I get dumped back at a prompt. OpenShot launches fine and I can open other files, but this cartoon effect is now preventing me from opening this particular project. I need a way to open the project and remove this effect.
Thanks.
