Hi Andy,

I may have jumped the gun on this one, I remember reading about
potential issues with python but I see now it was python 3 not 2.6, The
python-mlt libs have been fixed in Debian Sid so it will just be a
matter of time for the fixed lib to enter Squeeze and fix the issue. I
thought perhaps it was an mlt incompatibility with python 2.6 originally
which is why I posted here, my sincere apologies for wasting anyone's
time...next time I'll read first and type second!

Hi,

This isn't really an Openshot bug but it affects Openshot in Debian Squeeze. Debian is moving toward making "Squeeze" into the next Debian Stable and part of the transition is the implementation of Python 2.6. An update of Python 2.6 today required the uninstallation of "python-mlt" and "libmlt3++" which effectively breaks Openshot. I'm sure this is not an unknown issue but since it affects Debian users and AV Linux users as well I thought I'd mention it. 

If Jonathan or any devs could reply with an indication of how long this will be an issue (if that is possible to know at this point) it would be appreciated. My thanks and encouragement to the entire Openshot team, this project is an amazing accomplishment and the new features look very exciting!
