[Bug 509974] Re: OpenShot gets slower as you add more clips to the timeline

I've tried today's openshot (downloaded trunk again with bzr) with MLT 0.5.6. Problems:
1. pointer seek times are long as always after any timeline change
2. audio and video play faster than normal
3. video shows a line of garbage on the top, only when there are 2 video tracks and the topmost covers the other
4. (critical for me) I've opened my project with the trunk version and accidentally saved the project after a few rabdom changes. Now the official Ubuntu version doesn't open the project file anymore and, like always in these situations, I don't have a backup...

Point 4 is somewhat my fault and it means I have to start over or wait
for a working openshot version, or... switch to another video editor and
start over. If only openshot used a XML project file...

However, I plan switching to something else, but in the meantime, if you
need my help to test new openshot versions and see if this bug goes
away, just ask.

Status in OpenShot Video Editor: Fix Committed

Bug description:
When I have about 100 JPG photo files (about 10MP) Openshot get's REALLY slow. Up to 10 seconds just to change the position in the timeline (programme gets grayed out in this time). CPU: 100%, RAM: 33% - so RAM is not the problem. The CPU is a Dual Core 2GHz (Intel core 2 duo CPU T5870 @ 2GHz). Is that too slow??? I wonder because everything is fine with only a few files.

Thx,
k_s

P.S.:
Ubuntu karmic koala 9.10
Openshot 1.0.0 (ppa)
