Bug description:
wizard fails on ubuntu 8.10 with no message. I tried both 32 and 64 bit

jay@jay-desktop:~$ python -V
Python 2.5.2
jay@jay-desktop:~$ uname -a
Linux jay-desktop 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Jun 18 14:15:37 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Ubuntu 8.10

Latest version of wizard
