That's done we have implemented a lot of shortcuts and i have not yet finished. It is a young project and that's right that very useful.
Try the version who is in the trunk. You can because it is in Python so no compilation and you can have severals version with the "official" version.

In a folder (in fact where you want) in a console :
bzr branch lp:openshot
and for update bzr pull
When you do this operation you must be in the folder openshot created by the first command and when you run openshot you must be in the folder openshot/openshot and do :python openshot.py

Bug description:
I often compose longer videos from smaller parts, and I often switch between the tools, mostly point/cut. Apparently this can only be done with mouse.  It would be great to have keyboard shortcuts for each tool.

I'm using OpenShot v1.1.3
