[Bug 509974] Re: OpenShot gets slower as you add more clips to the timeline

The project is set to PAL DVD Wide. I have a long clip which is my 1st
video track and my only audio track: this has been previously converted
from a MTS stream to PAL DVD with the following ffmpeg command:

$ ffmpeg -deinterlace -i 00032.MTS -target pal_dvd -acodec copy -b 6000k
-r 25 -y 00032-dvd.avi

Then I have other clips that have been captured by mencoder from a 4:3
analog source, then deinterlaced, cropped and transcoded with avidemux
to fit a 16:9 screen. These are the clips that go on the 2nd video track
(topmost). The whole project lasts about 50 minutes and it has about 10
files that make the about 30 clips, after cutting here and there.

Finally there's a title and a two other short clips obtained from a
static png image.

Bug description:
When I have about 100 JPG photo files (about 10MP) Openshot get's REALLY slow. Up to 10 seconds just to change the position in the timeline (programme gets grayed out in this time). CPU: 100%, RAM: 33% - so RAM is not the problem. The CPU is a Dual Core 2GHz (Intel core 2 duo CPU T5870 @ 2GHz). Is that too slow??? I wonder because everything is fine with only a few files.

Thx,
k_s

P.S.:
Ubuntu karmic koala 9.10
Openshot 1.0.0 (ppa)
