That 's an error in the packaging. And it has been modified in the code for no more having this problem.

Status in OpenShot Video Editor: Won't Fix

Bug description:
When I add or move a clip in the timeline I have to hit zoom buttons to force a refresh of the timeline and the clips appears.

OS: Ubuntu 10.10 beta
Installation: Bundled package and PPA
Version: 1.1.3
