Actually, I don't think the blender executable path has to be a full path,
just a valid command that launches the 2.54 beta.  So it might look like
this for someone who has installed Blender 2.54 from a PPA "blender", and
for someone who just downloads the folder it might look like a full path
"/home/USER/blender254/blender".

Also, the error messages looked like it was using the wrong version of
Blender.  It was an error with the Python API of Blender.  Because blender
is still in beta, each release keeps changing the Python API, and thus
errors like that are generated from our Python scripts.  Maybe you still had
2.53 or something, and then you updated to 2.54.  Just a thought.
