I'm seeing this in version 1.2.2 in Maverick as well. When I run
OpenShot from the terminal, "on_btnZoomIn_clicked" is displayed when I
click the zoom in button. I'm not sure if this helps. Is there anything
I can provide that would help fix this problem?

Bug description:
When adjusting the timeline scale, the timeline marker should always be visible. This is especially a problem when zooming in.
