[Bug 692764] Re: trouble with long videos

The trunk version crash was do an installation error on my part.

I've solved my immediate problem by writing a python script which breaks
my one long movie into several smaller ones.

It looks like the entire timeline is being rendered onto the canvas. The
solution would be to only render the part that is needed. I may take a
look at implementing that later, right now I'm too put off by your use
of tabs. :P

Title:
  trouble with long videos

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  New

Bug description:
I have a long video. (About an hour in length). Openshot does not appreciate this.

The underlying problem appears to be that openshot is using up all of my available ram (whenever I have the project open). This results in stability and performance problems.

This happens in Version 1.2.2 (via PPA), The "trunk?" version from bzr simply hangs attempting to load the file.

What I'd like is for openshot to avoid using as much memory. Another option would be if I could somehow split my existing project into several smaller projects, but I'm not see a good way to do this.
