Message #05414
[Bug 692764] Re: trouble with long videos
I believe the project type is DV NTSC (I'm not sure where in the
openshot interface to confirm this)
Output of free:
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 896484 577104 319380 0 6308 82612
-/+ buffers/cache: 488184 408300
Swap: 2624504 983096 1641408
This is less of a concern now. I see that splitting up the project into
many smaller parts is better to work with a number of ways so I won't be
creating such a large project in the future.

Title:
trouble with long videos
Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
New
Bug description:
I have a long video. (About an hour in length). Openshot does not appreciate this.
The underlying problem appears to be that openshot is using up all of my available ram (whenever I have the project open). This results in stability and performance problems.
This happens in Version 1.2.2 (via PPA), The "trunk?" version from bzr simply hangs attempting to load the file.
What I'd like is for openshot to avoid using as much memory. Another option would be if I could somehow split my existing project into several smaller projects, but I'm not see a good way to do this.
