I don't like this screenshot as well. Though I very much like the idea,
since I use frame-by-frame cutting through property window a lot, and I
don't like having it floating around. I propose this other solution, see
attachment for details.

Bug description:
  Meanwhile improved layout and functionality are implemented in future
  releases of Openshot (e.g.
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/openshot/+bug/455791), a simple solution
  that would greatly improve usability is making a new tab for clip
  properties. This makes visible most of the clip modifications options
  and makes easier and faster to edit.

  Also, a slight change of the clip color that indicates which clip is
  selected (and its properties shown in the tab) could be added.

  It could look more or less like the screenshot below.
