Suffering the same bug here (Ubuntu 10.10 x86_64), openshot 1.3.0 (from
PPA), ClearLooksClassic gnome theme, Gnome Human icon-set, 1280x800
screen resolution.

  Icons etc. disappearing

Bug description:
  When starting OpenShot, some of the icons on the toolbar are missing.
  They can be brought back by placing the mouse over them, or
  (un)maximizing the window. Similarly, this also happens when a pop-up
  window appears.
