[Bug 769512] Re: first frame mostly unaffected by transitions, effects etc...
Like I was on a LiveCD to test Peppermint, I have changed of computer and I have now access at my personnal .
documentation. I was not thinking that you will compile it because there is a famous repository for grabbing the last version of MLT for Ubun tu Users.
Anyway, You must all remove (MLT) either with synaptic (with the option purge) either in console and check if you have none rest of this installation (check if you have yet this libraries and remove them if there are yet present).
1) mlt.py
2) _mlt.so
3) mlt_wrap.o
This operation will remove a lot of softwares like Openhsot and Kdenlive (for sample).
After you had the repository who is in the documentation of the 1.3.0 version. See here : http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=758
You add it (sudo add-apt-repository xxxxx )and always in a console you update your source-list and you install MLT. And after, you install openshot. You run openshot in a console and see if you have always this error.
Another last thing, check if you have all your dependencies (same if for
you it is a MLT problem). If it miss one, openshot will not run.

Title:
first frame mostly unaffected by transitions, effects etc...
Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
New
Bug description:
I'm using openshot 1.3.0 from the ppa on Ubuntu 10.04.
When I use transitions, effects, animations (rotation, zoom etc..) the first frame of the clip always shows : I get the first frame (or several frames sometimes) and then the rest of the clip with proper effects. This doesn't go after rendering, and you can't miss it when you watch the video. It doesn't always happen but almost. Sometimes I just move the clips a little and it disappears but mostly it comes back later. I can't figure out any scheme, it seems to happen randomly. So basically I can't use any transitions/effects/animation at all.
Worse : when a clip starts on a track while there's another clip running on a upper track, the first frame shows anyway. Actually whatever I do the first frame of any clip always shows, so that I must stick to one track and no effects. There's not a lot of point in using openshot with only one track and no effects^^.
(another unimportant bug : when you export in ogg theora/vorbis, if
there's only audio and a black screen at the beginning of the video,
the audio will be normal while the video will start immediately at the
first "real" (not black) frame)
