[Bug 777223] Re: Openshot 1.3.1 segv's: cannot import name main
The debug.py file probably failed because it could not find the
lsb_release command, which might be a Debian specific thing, I'm not
sure. The Segmentation fault is likely caused by our video library,
MLT. I would check and see if the following things work:
Command 1:
$ melt
If the command is found, and no errors are reported, then it is probably
installed correctly.
Command 2:
$ python
>> import mlt
>> f = mlt.Factory()
>> f.init()
If no errors are reported in Python, then MLT is most likely installed
correctly.
Also, you might try modifying the debug.py file, to remove the few lines
related to "lsb_release", since the rest of that script tests all of
these things. Good luck.

After installing Openshot, I see the following in a terminal:
