Personally, I will not use the wizard knowing that a PPA is available.
Like it is a segmentation violation,  could you use the gdb program ?  It will be a little more easy to find the reason of this crash. All is explained here : http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=180
