Re: Clean me!
Good call Toast! (And happy 2011 everyone!)
Sam, that was an awesome response. I love your open source insights. =)

We're a diverse group, so based on who is interested in what, we should probably steer people to what we are currently toying with:
1). Drupal, CiviCRM (and related plugin development)
2). Something like CAPP (discuss here!)
3). Open data initiative advocacy
4). ??? Something new people are interested in working on that other people want to work on ???
I think there's a lot of different fronts we can attack this thing, and people should scratch their political and development itch as long as it's within the core mission of the OSDF. That being said...

Someone, or some people, are going to have to take point on the Drupal process, and that people just isn't going to be me. I don't know Drupal well enough to even know the steps involved. I can certainly help, but someone that knows what they are talking about needs to take over that series and blueprints on Launchpad.
I think there's a couple things on the drupal front outside of LaunchPad that we can be proactive about:
1). I assume part of the Drupal configuration is needing to know how the writing team wants to operate (who edits what? who has permissions? how do you propose a story?). Maybe we should ask them on the forum and get the conversation started. This will allow us to give access to the content folks so they can fill out the site while we...
2). Integrate with the design team: What's the best way to get a design into a drupal template? Someone should probably talk to the art department and start to lay the groundwork for a cooperative existence (please don't just walk in and demand a design, remember we need to work within their processes too =). I don't know what Drupal templates look like, so someone better qualified should broach this topic with the designers. Maybe there's a designer out there who has worked on Drupal templates before?
3). How do the people who have done grassroots organization want to organize in CiviCRM? Have they used it before / have suggestions? Probably should ask them too.
I know it doesn't look like there's people on the forums... but there are. I think people are waiting for someone to do something: Every time I post someone new responds. We're doing stuff, so we should start reaching out and helping these groups form up like a proper open source style organization (i.e., somewhat controlled chaos).

P.S. Caveat: I have no idea if I was linking to the correct forums above, so use your best judgement. =)
