Hi,

Emet Hikory ( emmet.hikory@xxxxxxxxx ) wants to give packaging
lessons, but as mentioned below
scheduling is tricky for him, so could someone pick this up with him?
And discuss the possibility's?
In the meanwhile I stay busy recruiting members.
I wrote an additional email to dmitrijs but have not received an
answer from him.
(The idea was to split his proposal into at least two sessons/lessons
instead of one.)

Best regards
leoquant

========================================
I'd be happy to do some lessons, but not more than once every
month or two. Some topics I cold do would include:

 * 10-step packaging: how to get from upstream source to a package quickly
 * Packaging without Compilation: how to package scripts, webapps,
data repositories, and similar
 * Finding your way around in a strange package
 * Licensing and copyright: how to confirm something can be
distributed and document it in debian/copyright
 * Understanding dh(1) packaging and using overrides
 * NBS and how to keep the archive fresh
 * Cleaning up an abandoned package

I could run through any of these topics in 15 minutes, but I
prefer to teach interactively, with lots of questions along the way
(rather than a presentation followed by a Q&A period). My experience
is that it takes about an hour to cover something using that format.
I very strongly prefer to teach via IRC, rather than preparing
documentation or performing in a video.

All that aside, scheduling is tricky for me. I tend to be most
active between about 1:00 UTC and 12:00 UTC, which doesn't seem to
match the standard training schedules. I can stretch to do something
early or late, but not by preference (so if you're having trouble
filling the blocks, you might ask me to do a first session or a last
seesion, but most European afternoon/evening sessions just don't work
for me).
