Is there an advantage to moving doublewrite buffer to a separate file?

A few of the files in InnoDB get sequential writes. The doublewrite
buffer and log files are the primary places for sequential writes as I
understand it. The rest of ibdata1 and the .ibd files can get a lot
of random writes, or at least partially random.

Would a separate file for doublewrite buffer help? Then it could be
located on different storage. How much does this matter? Does it
matter for durability? Does it matter when placing some data on SSD
and some on traditional hard drives?
