Public bug reported:

When you are on one of the sub-tabs of System Settings, say the Email
Settings tab, and then you click on Save Preferences, it will save them,
but will always return to the Server Settings tab.

My expectation would be that it should return to whatever tab it was on.
So if I am on the Email Settings tab, and I click Save Preferences, then
it should save my settings but it should also return to the Email
Settings tab, not the Server Settings tab.
