[Bug 459084] [NEW] Simple update incorrect on 2nd and subsequent rows of CSV file

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libsql-statement-perl

A simple update of a CSV delimited file incorrectly makes value of
column on 2nd and subsequent rows null.

sl2 % lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.04
Release: 9.04
sl2 %

sl2 % apt-cache policy libsql-statement-perl
libsql-statement-perl:
  Installed: 1.15-3
  Candidate: 1.15-3
  Version table:
 *** 1.15-3 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
sl2 %

Attached is a compressed tar including a apport-cli file, the output of
apt-show-versions and the simplest code I could put together to
demonsrate the problem. Unpack and "make" for instructions. The
content of the zupdate.sh file is plainly understood. Output from when
I run the test is included.

** Affects: libsql-statement-perl (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
