thanks nomodeset does not produce any error or warning, however the
effect is the same as radeon.modeset=0 so I get weird stuff happening in
Xfe fonts and the icons are not working, and i guess in other apps would
have problems too. Xfe is developed with Fox toolkit, looks to me like
KDE and Gnome apps have no problem so maybe it is an error with this
toolkit?

they appear as empty squares athough they work. Can someone confirm this?
