[Bug 504833] Re: language-selector installs too many language components
Ok here is the deal:
language selector will not be added, it's just bloat. Instead some
locales are selected on the broth side and they can be chosen at boot
time using:
locale=es
OR
locale=es_ES.UTF-8

Bug description:
If you start language-selector you will first be told that your locale installation is not complete and will suggest to finish it, it then starts to pull all kind of dictionaries and help files and even Open Office related packages (!).
Because language selector depends on Synaptic I suspect that its default behavior is to pull everything marked as "Recommends". The question is, if we configure Synaptic to not do so, will language-selector calm down?
