[Bug 595288] Re: May be issue with logo use.

Hi Dan (hopefully that's okay),

I see where your statement might be valid, but the problem is that no
print media works in an RGB process (light doesn't emit from the paper
like it does from our computer screens). A print medium would apply a
CMYK process (light hitting the paper and bouncing back and hitting our
eyes). . . [started writing before knowing about RAL]

Oh wait. RAL 3003 just is one color (not too familiar with this method
of distinguishing colors (it's apparently a European classification)!
Woohoo. Of course, I don't know how the RAL classification would
(theoretically) compare to RGB if taken to court. But this is something
that I missed.

One more thing is the keyring hole. I don't know if this would count, as
there isn't a keychain attached, but Victorinox does count that as an
"implement" (WARNING PDF:
http://www.swissarmy.com/TheCompany/CareerOpportunities/Documents/VMS07025_REV0609_SAK_Manual_Update_FINAL_pdf.pdf).

I still cannot completely dismiss the problem, as there might still be
one. But things are looking a lot better now.

Thank you Dan,
Chris

Bug description:
Hello. I found this project not all that long ago. It looks great! I did notice that there might be a conflict with the knife logo. Before I say anything else please note that I live in the United States, I am NOT a lawyer, and I am not related to any companies named hereafter. According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss_Army_knife) "The color red for multi-function knives, the cross-and-shield emblem, and the words SWISS ARMY are registered trademarks of Victorinox AG and its related companies." I did a little research to make sure that the claim was backed up by something official. I checked the United States Patent and Trademark Office website (http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=login&p_lang=english&p_d=trmk) and searched "red AND Victorinox." It came up. I have no idea if the Puredyne logo infringes on anything, but I just don't want to see the project get into legal trouble. A fix may be as simple as removing the key chain hole (as Victorinox usually counts the key chain as a "function") or recoloring the logo. Then again, there may be no problem whatsoever. I have no idea what country Puredyne is native to (different laws might exempt you from this). Just a friendly heads up, and wishes that the project will get even better.

Kind Regards.
