0.8.0rc1 and OS X

Hi,

Just an FYI, I haven't tested 0.8.0rc1 on OS X yet.  I will test prior to
releasing 0.8.0 final and resolve any issues.

(Actually, I haven't tested with Python 2.4, either.  I'll do that, too.)
