Hello hackYou,

regarding extended composition w.r.t. scanned document backgrounds,
there is a branch that allows to darken or lighten the rendered images
using the paper color which for example can be used to darken a white
background below black text. If would be helpful if you could give the
proposed branch at [1] a try by build it from source.
