Looks like the only way is to use "hardcoded" colors instead of the system
defaults. Any objections? I'd simply use the colors that Firefox displays.

The system colors are deprecated in CSS 3 and
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/CSS/color_value#System_Colors says they are
"Deprecated for use on public web pages." as well.
