same here on the 32 bit machine but seems to be working on the AMD64
machine. Ubuntu 10.04 geeqie 1.0beta2.

http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/17588 reports "To get file information
gqview uses struct stat which have 32-bit st_ino field, but inodes on
mounted CIFS filesystem are 64-bits wide and doesn't fit to 32 bits.
stat() function returns EOVERFLOW, but gqview doesn't check errno value
and just skips such files and directories."

Then there's the issue of the startup folder preference that is missing
- workaround is to use command line. but that's for another place.
