(using kpartx which your procedure)
ubutu can create partition on GPT disk(2nd) by gparted.

Disk /dev/mapper/pdc_befgjjibfc: 2300 GB, 2300997404160 bytes

Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

*1 this partition is ntfs.
