[Bug 484438]
Created an attachment (id=384662)
record of the bug
I know this bug too. But only on one of my PCs. Both my PCs uses OpenSUSE 11.2 with continuously updated KDE version since 4.3.1. My home computer is AMD Dual core athlon, 2GB RAM and it is OK (maybe, I do not work with ooo documents at home very intensivelly). My office PC is Intel Dual core with 4GB RAM and when I intensivelly work with OpenOffice, this bug appears. This bug I discovered with ooo 3.2 and 3.2.1 but I started intensively work with ooo this year, so I cannot write about older version. My office PC is connected to MS Windows 2003 server and for the first time I saw this behavior, when I operated on CIFS/SMB medium. But it is the same on my local home. I have suspition, that this bug has some dependance on a number of (media) operations, because when I restart ooo, I have some probability, that ooo will be for some time OK.
I am also not sure, that ooo natice dialogs are without this bug - I have _suspition_, that I saw this behavior also with native ooo dialogs (with lesser extensity), but it was some months ago and did not solve it during that time.
Now I set native dialogs and uninstall package ooo-kde and this has not appeared yet (for two days).
I record work with this bug - see the attachment. Description:
1) save as - extreme delay for disk operations (it looks like waiting to some time mark - duration of delays is sometimes decidedly shorter), but alone writing to disk is quick. Quick is also writing the new filename - although there is delay to get text cursor.
2) Opening file - waiting for "directory operations", but reading of file is OK.
