Public bug reported:

I can't find a way to relate the ID's as seen through the EC2 API to the
ID's as seen on the filesystem, in logs, in libvirt, etc... This is
quite annoying. I'm not super-fond of the idea of making the EC2 id the
canonical one, but I have to say that seeing the EC2 ID in "virsh list",
for instance, was /extremely/ convenient.
