There seems to be a difference in the 2.6.38 kernel's dkms. I also have the
issue that easy-spin-down-manager does not work. But when I upgrade to the
highly beta 3.0.0-r2 everything works fine.

I suspect there is some changes in the kernel between 2.6.35 and 2.6.38 that
breaks easy-spin-down-manager. I do not know enough kernel hacking to figure
out this problem.

Shamefully it seems the current 3.0.0-r2 kernel has an issue with the screen
resolution.
