One problem is that the external source might keep changing after the
end of the term -- this is particularly the case with CanDo -- which
would mean that your historical grades would be inaccurate. Basically
keeping this less magical and more manual makes unexpected results
less likely.
On the other hand, it doesn't have to be difficult or tedious to
update the column. Probably we need some kind of pop-up menu or
something on the column to let you by-pass all these clicks.
