[Bug 851754] Re: X 1.0rc3: IDE silently hangs on startup [Windows 7 64b]
There is a new feature with rc3: restore window on startup including the
files that were open on quit.
This makes some problems on start up with different symptoms (and it
does it on Mac too):
- when editing a new script in IDE and you decide not to save it at quit, there will be a Java error at startup
- someone updated rc2 to rc3 and rc3 on Mac and it did not startup, but had Java error. The solution was to delete the org.sikuli.ide.plist in ~/Library/Preferences (which is comparable to the above Windows action)
I think this startup feature is not yet robust enough.
** Summary changed:
- X 1.0rc3: IDE silently hangs on startup [Windows 7 64b]
+ X 1.0rc3: IDE hangs on startup - problems with saved session [Windows/Mac]
** Description changed:
- The IDE started to freeze on startup. It turned out that I had cleaned
- up my AppData/Local/Temp directory, where IDE stored some temporary
- files. The solution was to remove the
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JavaSoft\Prefs\org\sikuli\ide\/I/D/E_/S/E/S/S/I/O/N
- (IDE_SESSION) value.
+ **** startup problems with Mac: see comment #1

rc2 does not have this bug.
Big thanks for the Sikuli itself!
