Of course: It is a must for a Java based tool, to support Java 7.
The question is when this will be implemented.

Since it is really possible, to have JRE6 on your machine in a way, that
only Sikuli can use it, this is an acceptable workaround still for some
time.

The mentioned security problems are only related to the web access part
of Java 6, which is not needed for Sikuli and can be switched off
completely. On top: as far as I understand: this is fixed with the
latest version of Java 6.
