I have also just experienced this problem on OS X Server 10.7.5.

Steps to reproduce:

1- installed java 6
2- downloaded Sikuli-IDE 1.0.0
3- copied a script over from another osx machine running mountain lion
4- noted that the script appears as a folder and i am unable to open it using the IDE.
5- verified i can write and execute a simple script using IDE. 
6- saved test file but unable to open it using IDE.
