Kevin Depew proposed the following answer:
workaround / fix : download and then install/launch Sikuli v930 one time
on the new machine and this will properly associate sikuli extensions
with both sikuli v930 and v1.0.0

now when you execute sikuli 1.0.0 you should be able to open scripts.

it appears the new version is not doing this properly on its own RaiMan.
