You should restrict the text read to the respective area (region) on the
screen, so it only contains the line of text you want.

Reading all text in a big region like the whole screen is still buggy.
I hope it will be better with 1.1  version. 

BTW: no alternate approach (besides implementing your own OCR
tool/approach)
