Uninstalled MacPorts using web page above
Installed HomeBrew
Reinstalled ImageMagick

Tried my best 2 hours of searching around for the PATH problem and
failed to get it sorted

used:-
Jeffs-iMac:~ Jeff$ which convert
/usr/local/bin/convert 

which told me where convert was
Changed Command to cmd = '/usr/local/bin/convert +append "%s" "%s" "%s" "%s" "%s" "%s" "%s"' % (TSCa, TSCb, TSCc, TSCd, TSCe, TSCf, my_user)
and it worked ok

Disappointed that I could not resolve the PATH problem - guess my late
2009 IMac is past its best and I am to scared to reinstall everything
from scratch which would probably sort it out
