I can confirm this bug, although I can't reproduce it. It happened just
once...

Title:
  Cannot save scanned document

Status in Simple Scan:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  The "Save as..." dialog is blank. It does not allow to choose a
  directory, does not display places nor file types. Apparently the
  document can be saved, but there is no information where.

  (always reproducible)

  + Scan some document
  + Click the Save button
  + A blank "save as..." dialog opens, as described above (see attached screenshot)
