Re: [Question #253502]: manual feeding/feeder

Question #253502 on Simple Scan changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/simple-scan/+question/253502

Summary changed to:
manual feeding/feeder

Description changed to:
One can use the "scan all page from the feeder" even if there's no
feeder.

But in this case one has to follow the SS routine since one has to feed
manually the platter !

In such case SS should behave in an other way by letting the user to do
the next scan.

In fact the "single page" option is about manual feeding : as far as one
doesn't required a new document one can do a multiple scan, for a
multiple-page file to save in pdf.

Don't know if one does consider as a bug the option feeder enable even
if one doesn't have one on the scanner or the all-in-one. At least the
"artist" in mind can play with it. Personally I will play with it, from
time to time.

Thought the actual dropdown menu is misleading since it launches the
scan page mode while it should act as a selector as it does for the
text/photo mode.

On the other hand, "single page aka manual feeding" and "all page frome
the feeder" are related to the hardware : the scanner or the all-in-one
got a feeder or not.

So it's a kind of logical value if one can assume that a scanner with
feeder can also be fed manually, then there is indeed a single option :
enable/disable the feeder.

Then the actual dropdown menu could be cleaned a bit since the default
page-scan mode would be "manual feeding" and when it's usefull, one
enables/disables the feeder somewhere in the GUI throught a checkbox or
alike.

That's was my 2 cents
