My advice: downgrade to BIOS M3a - R2168M3. Here the direct downloadlink
on Sony ftp-Server;

ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/VAIO/Updates/EP0000180599.exe

Must be installed from Windows.
Then you can unlock it with an efi boot stick like discribed here:

(with

        setup_var 0x1af 0x1

you will unlock VT only

with

        setup_var 0x25a 0x1

the complete advanced settings menu will be unlocked)

(R2170M3 cannot be unlocked with efi bootstick. IMHO)

It maybe does not 100% work with Windows 7. (Read the archive from this
mailing list)
