According to this link VT is unlocked in a new BIOS. I haven't checked it
myself though.
Somehow I remember that people still prefer to hack the BIOS, not sure what
was still locked with the new BIOS.
I think for multi-core and/or 64 bit Guest OS you need VT enabled.
