Re: NVIDIA and VPCZ11C5E
Zitat von Xavier Hallade <xh@xxxxxxxxxxx>:
Hi,
The speed led of your graphic switcher doesn't light up ? Both of
your cards should to be enabled at the same time, so the nvidia
can't work. Yyou have to boot an older kernel (<2.6.30) before or
unlock advanced options of your bios, as I've described here :
http://en.lowl.net/linux-on-vaio-vpc-z.html (Graphic Switch)
Xavier.
Hello Xavier,
I can't believe it but it worked. Booting an old 2.6.26 kernel from
a debian rescue cd activated the "speed" light resulting in a working
xorg with the NVIDIA driver.
Thank you very much. I don't know how much time I spent on google on
this topic, but it was a lot.
But, if I understood the problem, I have to do this procedure every time
I restart the machine? Since I got another BIOS version as described in
the howto I can't really activate the "advanced BIOS features"?
Greets,
Aleks
