I have a VPCZ1290X on order, and will help with testing once I get it. I do
have some dumb questions right now:
1) What are the large remaining known issues? I've read a lot of material
now, including following this list lately, and I get the impression that it's
graphics cards and raid booting. Of course these are fundamental, so when
they don't work then the whole laptop is useless. But it is still nice to
know that there are only a couple of things to figure out, and once the
system is booting there are not even more things to fight against (e.g. wifi,
touchpad, webcam, etc).
2) Can someone explain the default raid setup? I think it is Raid 0 which
allows multiple hard disks to appear as a single unit? Mine is the 128GB
model which I think means two 64GB disks. And this is a problem for grub 2?
Is that the only incompatibility?
3) What is the definitive howto document? I apologize but it is not 100%
clear to me from the launchpad group information what the starting point is
to installation on the Z. I assume simply booting from vanilla Lucid is not
really the starting point.
Thanks,
Justin
