Re: Vaio Z with lucid experiences & bios with VT support

Hey André,

The janitor script does not restrict you to nvidias ftp-servers,
Raphael designed it quite flexible. You can get your nvidia fix from
their ftp-servers or from your repository. lucid's repo contains the
195 series drivers, the x-swat repository contains the .deb files for
the 256 drivers. You can go ahead and just use the janitor script to
download the newer drivers via ftp, or add the x-swat repository with
"sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates" (don't use the
quotes) first and then install the drivers via the janitor script.
Your third option is to install the drivers with "sudo apt-get install
nvidia-current nvidia-current-modaliases nvidia-settings". In any
case, adding the new repo will get you a new x-server with your next
update.

br,
     Patrick
