Re: Sony Vaio Z and VirtualBox

> I actually have to agree to Norbert.

Hmm, I agree with Norbert but I don't agree with the tone. If people are
going to get annoyed everytime someone else does something which they don't
approve of then maybe they need to go off and form their own society, because
it will always happen :(.

In defence of Denys, he probably just assumed that it was an issue with
my particular kernel, which IS sony z series related and information about it
can only be found here. That is obviously an incorrect assumption but for
someone who is trying to get Linux running who does not understand the
technical stuff ( which is the sort of person that Linux needs to appeal to if
it has any hope of mass adoption ) would not necessarily understand that or
know where to find the answers. Any mailing list that you care to set up which
doesn't have some sort of an examination as a membership qualification will
fall foul of the same thing eventually. If people would just play nicely then
the world would be a better place... ( Adam gets off his soap box now. )

Let me make it clear though that my kernel is based on a pre-release, and
the Intel fixes are also new. This list isn't the place to get support on
either, unless you are asking about specific Z series components which do not
work AND you have looked on your favourite search engine for the answers
first! Then the thread would be about how to get the component working, which
is sort of the point of this list :).

Denys - VirtualBox DOES work on my kernel because I use it - I thought
that the latest VirtualBox had all of the necessary patches included, but
search google for "VirtualBox 2.6.36" and you should find the answers.

Adam.
