Re: natty alpha 3 w00t!

What Vaio are you using?
I tried Natty alpha3 vi a Z12(1600x1280 screen). Not much luck. I don't see anything at boot (screen remains blank), so I can't boot into the live system. I might be able to install the same way i did with 10.10 but I don't want to ruin my mostly working system.

Hi all,

Just wanted to say that 3 days after a fresh install of Natty Alpha 3 on my new Sony VAIO VPCZ, I'm happy to report that most of my issues are now solved out of the box!

Plus, Natty may still be buggy, but it is not crashing in ways that hamper my ability to work more than once every couple of days (compiz fails and reboot is necessary). So, when minor things crash I'm just submitting bug reports and move on.

My remaining questions are:

1. Power management

I'm only getting a couple hours of battery life. What's a good tool to monitor which processes are eating the power?

2. graphics cards management

a. How do I know which card is active at a given moment? I can see both cards are present and recognized by the system but, which is running the screen?

b. Switching between Intel and NVIDIA. Honestly I don't care too much about this for my own purposes, it's more just curiousity :)

3. Internal microphone

Doesn't seem to be working.
